Paper describes and analyses the major issues concerning the use of GM technology in developing countries, followed by a presentation of the potential benefits and risks of GM agriculture in the areas of environment, health and socioeconomics. The obstacles developing countries can present for the introduction of GM technologies are assessed and potential solutions are presented.
